In November 02018 I was fortunate enough to attend The Neurodegenerative Diseases: Biology and Therapeutics meeting held in Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL). It was not only my first conference overseas, but my first conference ever! I presented a poster in one of the poster sessions, and the rest of my time was spent attending seminars and networking with other scientists in the neurodegeneration field. This consisted of people working on Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, ALS and a range of other conditions. I represented Multiple Sclerosis, which may not usually be thought of as a neurodegenerative disease, but I argue in my research, and perhaps in a future article, that MS does have a neurodegenerative component.

Without a doubt though, what most excited me during the conference were not the seminars, good as they were, but…
